Daniel Mandel

Daniel Mandel represents developers, property owners, investors, institutions, and municipalities in a wide range of land use and real estate-related legal matters. His practice includes advising clients on local entitlements and public agency approvals, the California Environmental Quality Act and other State laws, land use and entitlements due diligence, and public-private transactions (including development agreements, disposition and development agreements, and ground leases).

Daniel also is an experienced transactional attorney who has represented clients in real property acquisitions and dispositions, joint venture formation and preferred equity financing, commercial mortgage lending, easements and title restrictions, and commercial leasing. He always is focused on bringing an analytical, efficient, and commercial-minded approach to his practice.

Prior to joining AGD, Daniel was an associate in the land use and real estate department of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He previously served as counsel to the Host Committee for Super Bowl 50, leading numerous contract negotiations and advising on government relations, employment law and intellectual property matters, corporate and nonprofit governance, and the overall risk management strategy for one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s largest-ever public events. Daniel also served as chief operating officer and in-house counsel to a Los Angeles-based commercial real estate development company.

Daniel received his JD, order of the coif, from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2013 and his AB with honors in Government from Harvard University in 2008.
